About
My memoir and YA writing is informed by my teenage years – a chaotic, dangerous time, shaped by trauma for which I didn’t yet have language.
I recently completed my debut manuscript, Back by Morning: a middle-of-the-night memoir, about navigating adolescence with untreated PTSD in 1990s Dallas. I am currently at work on a YA novel about a teenage girl whose brother is killed by a drunk driver. The book explores the healing power of restorative justice.
My work has appeared in The Washington Post, Hippocampus, The Connecticut Review, and other publications. I teach English at CT State Community College.
My album Some Weather is available on all major platforms for streaming and purchase.
I live in Connecticut with my movie-obsessed husband and fanfic-writing teenager. I spend hours a day on the phone with my twin sister, who has the nerve to live 1,724 miles away. I am powered by Mexican food, chocolate peanut butter ice cream, and anything that makes me laugh until my ribs hurt.
